About the Artwork

Completely abstract work revealing the initial charcoal lines. I used oil paint expressively which created energy on board. I start off with outlining shapes in charcoal, then use oil, make my own paints with pigment, spraypaint, acrylic. This was created when I was debilitated by anxiety but finally was able to get to my studio after many weeks of not leaving my house. I have never experienced anything like this before. This work is based on a dream that I had at the time. It was an outburst of energy that has built up over a few weeks which was channelled through two point. (You can see two areas of focus in the middle of the painting). The general theme of this work is hope and positivity during difficult times. It's emotional but at the same time reminds me of the support that I got from my friends and family.
